Dustin Hoff came to the Department in August 2022. Destin has lived in Cumberland County about a year and moved here from the state of Oregon. He grew up in Carlton Oregon and graduated form the Yamhill-Carlton High School. He received higher education at Pioneer Pacific College. Dustin brings a lot of law enforcement experience to the department. He has worked with the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon Department of Corrections, Amity Police Department, Warm Springs Police Department, Carlton Police Department, Yamhill Police Department, and he worked for Pac-Tac Security providing executive protection.


Dustin has received over 1735 documented hours of training with the Oregon Department of Public Safety, Desert Snow advanced interdiction, K9 academy- O.P.C.A. Security Threat Group. He is an instructor on the Taser less lethal electronic discharge weapon and Stop Stick pursuit termination device and has also served as a field training officer.


Dustin enjoys reading and writing and is a published author. He has been married for thirty-one years to his high school sweetheart in his own words.


As you can see, he brings a wealth of experience and training to the department, and we are glad to have him on board. During his interview, Dustin said he was looking for his last job that he can finish up before retirement. We hope he is happy here and this can be that job.
